Film Queenstown Lakes is the in-council film office within the Economic Futures team at Queenstown Lakes District Council. The office acts as a point of coordination for screen activity in the region and offers support in the following areas:

Advises on and administers council film permits and other permissions

Provides advice, information and support to filmmakers and screen productions

Connects productions with other relevant local authorities, location owners and community leaders

Fosters a film-friendly environment with ease of access to locations and permitting

Helps to grow and develop the local screen sector – its people, businesses and capability

Promotes the district as a filming destination, in collaboration with Film Otago Southland
