Doc Edge Festival
An Academy Awards® qualifying international documentary film festival held annually in Auckland, Wellington and online. It showcases the best films from New Zealand and around the world and includes Awards, celebrating excellence in filmmaking and Exhibition, a showcase of digital interactive storytelling featuring top international and local VR, AR, installations, and digital stories.
In 2016, Doc Edge was honoured to be selected as an Academy Award® Qualifying Festival for short documentaries (NZ and international films). In 2018 the Festival was selected as an Academy Award® Qualifying Festival for feature documentaries (NZ and international films). This means the winners of the Best NZ/Int Short and Feature categories each year are qualified to be considered for an Oscar.

Doc Edge Schools
An educational programme for students Year 5 to Tertiary connecting school students with documentaries from NZ and around the world. The programme offers free screenings during Doc Edge Festival and a VOD platform for schools across the country to access a year-round.

Doc Edge Industry
Learning and connecting opportunities for media professionals. Including Forum, an industry event that brings together local and international film, TV and other media professionals. It offers seminars, panels, masterclasses, networking opportunities. Pitch, a documentary pitching forum for short and feature films, Clinics, a professional development programme for filmmakers and Market/Rough Cuts, a platform to for filmmakers to present their content to buyers.

Good Pitch Aotearoa NZ
Good Pitch is a worldwide programme amplifying film through strategic impact. Developed by Doc Society and Sundance Documentary Institute, Good Pitch brings together documentary filmmakers and subjects with foundations, NGOs, campaigners, philanthropists, policymakers, brands and media around leading social and environmental issues — to forge coalitions and campaigns that are good for the partners, the films and society.
Doc Edge runs Good Pitch Aotearoa New Zealand (GPANZ).
