Goods & Services Tax (GST)
GST is a tax on the final consumer at a rate of 12.5 percent for all goods and services, except those with specific exemption.
All businesses operating in New Zealand turning over more than $40,000 a year are required to collect GST by registering with the Inland Revenue Department, issuing appropriate invoices and forwarding the tax collected to the department on a regular basis.
