24th Annual SPADA Conference

November 24th, 2016 09:00 - 25 Nov 17:00

Theme: THE FUTURE OF STORYTELLING

Technology brings with it challenges and opportunities for the future of storytelling, and at this year's SPADA Conference we seek to interrogate those issues more closely.

We also explore the question WHAT IS THE NZ VOICE? in a key plenary session programmed in association with Women in Film and Television (WIFT), which we're delighted to confirm will be facilitated by International Creative Expert Dr Angus Finney.

We also welcome Dr. Eva Novrup Redvall, Associate Professor in Film and Media Studies at the University of Copenhagen to New Zealand, and the SPADA Conference this year. Dr Redvall is Head of the Research Priority Area on Creative Media Industries, and her research focuses on issues related to screenwriting and production in the current film and television industries, among other things on how to understand practitioners’ work.

Other programming highlights include:

* The South Pacific Pictures' BIG PITCH Competition during the Great Screenrights' Lunch
* The 19th Annual SPADA Industry Awards / Thurs 24 Nov / 5:30-6:00pm
* Networking Cocktail Function / Thurs 24 Nov 6:00-8:00pm
